Not a general audience. Someone reading a page about dental implants in Mississauga is going to book somebody this month — the only question is who.
Three things are true about a directory visitor that are not true of most advertising.
Nobody browses a dental directory for fun. They arrive with a toothache and a postcode, and they are comparing clinics in the next twenty minutes.
Every listing page, city page and search result is tied to a place. An ad on the Calgary pages is seen by people looking for a dentist in Calgary — not by the whole country.
Most people call two or three clinics. Being one of the names in front of them at that moment is worth considerably more than a general impression.
Your clinic is pinned to the top of the results for chosen cities and specialties, marked as featured. The listing itself is the ad — no banner, no design work, and it is where people are already looking.
Fixed slots on the home page, city pages, listing pages and articles. Sold by share of voice, so two advertisers in one slot each get a measured proportion of the impressions rather than a vague promise.
A useful piece on the blog with your business credited. Marked as sponsored and linked with rel="sponsored" — which is what Google asks for, and what keeps both of us out of trouble.
Impressions and clicks for every placement, counted in the browser so that page caching does not quietly inflate the numbers. You can see them at any time — you are not waiting for a monthly PDF.
We would rather show you a small real number than a large invented one. If a placement is not working we will tell you, and we would rather move you to a better slot than keep selling you a bad one.
Which cities, which specialties, and what a new customer is worth to you. That last number decides whether any of this is a good idea, so we would rather discuss it early than after you have paid.
Based on the traffic those pages actually get. If the answer is "not enough to be worth your money yet", that is what we will say.
Placements go live on the dates you choose. You see impressions and clicks throughout, and you can stop at the end of any month.
No. A featured placement is marked as featured and sits in its own position; it does not reorder the ordinary results. This is the one thing we will not sell, because the moment ranking is for sale the directory is worth nothing to readers — and an audience that does not trust the listings is not an audience worth advertising to.
Ask and we will tell you the real figures for the pages you are interested in, along with how fast they are growing. We are not going to print a big number on a sales page; a number without a date and a definition is marketing, not information.
Monthly, and you can stop at the end of any month. We would rather keep advertisers because the placements work than because they signed something.
Yes, always, and that is not negotiable. Labelled advertising performs better here anyway — a reader who knows what they are looking at and clicks anyway is a much warmer call than one who feels tricked.
If it is genuinely relevant to a patient dealing with their teeth — a dental lab, an insurer, an aligner brand — yes. If it is not, no. Irrelevant advertising annoys the audience and does not work for the advertiser either.
Send us your area and your services and we will come back with what those pages actually get and what it would cost.
